WHO AM I?

My name is Redd, and I'm a pro rigger and shibari instructor. Many beginner students come to my classes with their own "sex store" cotton or silk ropes, which are terrible for shibari. I will always hand these students a piece of jute rope for them to experience the difference, and when I do, the question I get asked the most is: "where do you get this rope from?"

A LACK OF ALTERNATIVES

For years, I enjoyed using rope from an Arizona based supplier, who sadly went out of business. I then discovered a hole in the market. Other jute suppliers didn’t offer sensible kit sizes or shorter ropes at all, didn’t whip their rope ends, or did minimal conditioning to their ropes. With no answer for my students about where to get rope from, and in need of a new source for my own rope practice, I decided to solve the problem myself.

SOLVING THE PROBLEM

I decided to go into business selling jute shibari rope. My approach is simple, if it's not good enough for me, it's not good enough for my customers. I've put all my knowledge from years of tying into delivering shibari rope made by riggers, for riggers. I now use Calamari Shibari rope in all my own tying practice, and I'd love to be able to provide rope for yours as well!
